Fall is Coming!

This one is one of my favorite outfits. I just finished this beautiful sweater, made with a natural and earth-friendly hemp blend yarn, in a checkerboard pattern. It just slips over the head and has a wide and sexy neckline. I coupled this sweater with the perfect pair of "skinny pants" in a beautiful green that blends nicely with the sweater. Added the pretty chain necklace and a pair of heels that are clear with a tint of green and she is ready for that big shopping day. She even has her own bag! Casual yet sophisticated. Maybe I'll make this in my size!

Lost Time

It's been a couple of days...okay longer, I know! I strained my back and have had a little trouble doing things. I do have things to share but haven't taken the pictures yet which requires me to get down on the ground... it's one of those "I can't get back up!" moments. So I've procrastinated. I'll post some pictures later today.

Rewarding Ambition

Had to share this with you. This is what two ambitious, (or crazy), women, can do with two long days, 150 lbs of tomatoes, 150+ lbs of peaches, and one canner!! We still have another 100 lbs of tomatoes to do on Tuesday. It was a lot of work but so worth the effort. Besides having something to fill our pantry, it was a wonderful time to spend with my daughter, Dori.
Special thanks to my brother too, for letting us use his kitchen and eat his food.

Early Morning Glory!!

This was the most amazing sky I have every seen in the morning. This is looking to the East at the sunrise. The clouds looked on fire...BUT... look what was in the Western Sky! Oh My! I have never seen a rainbow in the morning or in the west. It was so beautiful I just had to share it with you. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

God's artistry at its best. And an early morning greeting from a beautiful rose.

Have a great day everyone!!!

Ernestos' Sweaters

These are the finished photographs done by Ernesto. I was commissioned to re-create a vintage sweater that was made for the Ken doll by Matel. The photo on the right shows the original green sweater in the back-ground and my version in the red-brick color in front. I use an up-dated, Eco-friendly hemp blend yarn that produced a much softer finished item. It gave Ernesto the look he wanted. He then asked me to make another in a V-neck style. I applied an interesting pattern to play-up the design and this was the finished results. Both sweaters slip over the head with no back opening. The dolls are porcelain Muio Bix by BillyBoy. Ernesto is an amazing photographer. He sets up an atmosphere of interest and realisim. Check out his Flickr site:

Rendezvous

What this? A secret meeting? These lovers do not know they are being watched. Their cool weather attire only adds to the warmth in their hearts. The few short minutes they have pass quickly. Their hearts beat with the seconds that pass, they hold each other close...savor a kiss...then must part... Is it good bye forever? We will never know as their meeting ends and they disappear from sight...

"Hey Barbie!"

" Hey, Barbie! Look at my new sweater! I got it from CWDesigns225 on Etsy.com. It came with a beanie that matches. Really cool, huh?" "Oh Ken, I think you look very handsome. You know, I buy all my clothes from that shop too." "Really, Barbie?" "Yes, Ken, I do. Do you like my coat and hat and sweater?" "I didn't know you bought your things from there too. All I know is that you always look HOT!!" "Oh, Ken! You are so funny. You should see what I have on under this! " (giggle) "Okay...let me help you down...careful now....WHOA!!! ... Whew! I got you!" (giggle giggle) "So, what do you have on under there? ....OMG!!! Wow! .... I like it!" "We should go check out the shop and see what is new. I heard she is adding new things all this month."
"That's great! Let's go."

Okay, so I have way too much fun!! Wait until you see the next story.....
Credit for the sweaters go to my mum-in-law. She made them and sent them from England. She is a very talented lady. I will have many more items from her to offer.

Annie's Dream

This little gal is a true labor of love. When I found this doll, I immediately thought of my dear sister-in-law and best friend, Annie. I new she had to have something very special made to play up all the beautiful features this doll has, especially the red hair and freckles. Her full head of hair really looked great out long, but when I finished the dress it was clear a different do was needed and so I came up with this unusual braid that looks more like a weave. I think it was the perfect compliment to a beautiful doll.
She is at home now with her new owner and I hope she is a reminder of how much I love and miss my Annie. Every girl needs a doll. All my love to you sweetie!

Appreciation...

I received the most wonderful feedback and even a follow-up letter from Kate. She bought the "flirt skirt" shown below and a plain closet wardrobe, like the one below only not painted. I have to say she made me feel so good about what I do. She recognized all the little details I do to make a purchase special. The extra effort and time I spend is meant to make my buyers feel extra special. I don't think it is a waste of my time even if no one notices. But once in a while, someone like Kate, takes the time to expand on her feelings, not just to say thank you, nice job...but to really tell me what she liked about her purchase. She fine-tuned in on the details that are so often times over-looked and taken for granite. Thank you so much Kate, for making my day and inspiring me to continue to add those extra things. If you are reading this, remember to be free with your appreciation, expand your thanks. This world needs more people like Kate.

You got to see these!

These are my new babies (rascals) from Andrea. Are they awesome or what? The one in the middle was a custom order where she changed the original little boy of "the devil made me do it" pouring the water, into a little girl pouring the water over the head of the other little girl. This is a perfect image of my two daughters when they were growing up! Andy you did a terrific job and these will be cherished. Thank you. (Andy's Rascals is found in my favorite links)
